MONTGOMERY COUNTY DEMOCRATS ANNOUNCE NEW CHAIR, CHRISTINE MCKINNEY
Clarksville, Tennessee, September 22, 2025 – At their regular monthly meeting on September 11, 2025, the Montgomery County Democratic Party elected Christine McKinney as their new Chair. Ms. McKinney will serve out the remainder of the two-year term previously filled by Allie Phillips, who resigned in August.
A former project manager for a multi-national company, Ms. McKinney has held various elected positions within the Montgomery County Democratic Party, most notably as Get Out The Vote Chair, as long time Treasurer and, since the current term began in April, 2025, as the Fundraising Chair. In 2022, she stepped up to run for the Montgomery County Commission and was defeated by just 17 votes.
Following the election for Chair, Dr. Duana Hall was elected to fill Ms. McKinney’s vacated seat as the new Fundraising Chair.
Ms. McKinney has long been an advocate of progressive policies and grassroots movements. Her first involvement in grassroots organizing in Clarksville was as a member of Clarksville Indivisible, an association she is proud to continue to this day. Through Clarksville Indivisible, she found her way to the local Democratic Party. Christine firmly believes that the Montgomery County Democratic Party is committed to bettering the lives of all Montgomery County residents. She and the Democratic Party will continue to work tirelessly to promote Democratic values and policies and ensure that the voices of all people in Montgomery County are heard.
