With America currently facing a new crisis daily, have you ever wondered how different life would be if we had average Americans running our local government?
What if the people making important decisions on our school boards, City Council, County Commission, state government, and others were the ones who understood the needs of their communities because they share the same concerns, struggles, and desires? Leaders who can not only hear our pleas for a better life, but fight for it with the same passion because they want it for themselves, too.
It is clear that our local government needs more everyday people like you, your neighbor who still believes the constitution means something, and your friend who encourages their family and friends to vote during elections. We need representatives in all areas of our local government who understand that it will take us coming together to invoke a positive change. These positions require passion, a desire to unite citizens, and a will to bring a sense of pride back to public office.
What if we told you that YOU are just as qualified (if not more!) than the people who are currently in those positions making decisions that affect us all on a day-to-day basis?
From local all the way to the top, change starts with ordinary people being willing to step up and run for public office.
Not all the positions that are up for election in the 2026 midterms hold intimidating titles. With positions such as Register of Deeds, or Trustee, there is something for everyone. Many representatives currently holding positions have no prior experience in political affairs. In fact, a representative with no political background may even be slightly favored. One thing is certain; we need something different than what we are used to. Could it be you?
If this sounds like you or someone you know, we encourage you to meet with our Political Affairs team to talk about running for office. Alternatively, if you’ve already made up your mind, you can sign up for our Candidate Academy. There is no charge and classes will be held throughout the fall of 2025 to help you get started on your way to being a decision maker in Montgomery County. This is how we start restoring balance in our politics, from the ground up!
