Montgomery County Democratic Party Calls for Democratic County Primary

Clarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Democratic Party (MCDP) has passed Resolution No. 1, calling for a County Democratic Primary on March 5, 2024. By including this primary on the same date as other county elections, the MCDP will provide citizens convenience and minimize the financial impact on Montgomery County taxpayers.

The MCDP Executive Committee states, “With a strong commitment to fair and inclusive elections, the Party aims to provide all citizens with the opportunity to participate in the democratic process. In 2022, Democrats achieved remarkable success, winning 11 out of 14 county elections where a Democrat was on the ballot. Building on this momentum, the Party believes that when Democrats run, Democrats win, reinforcing the significance of the County Democratic Primary.”

The Montgomery County Democratic Party encourages eligible candidates to actively participate in the County Democratic Primary, fostering healthy competition and diverse perspectives.  Furthermore, the MCDP cannot emphasize the absolute importance of all eligible citizens to not only register to vote, but to engage in this right on election days.
