#StopTheVoucher Scam Special Session Day of Action

After a coalition of Tennesseans overwhelming rejected the voucher scam last year by teachers, parent groups, 72+ local elected bodies, the superintendents association, and communities all across the state, Gov. Lee is trying yet again to ram through this deeply unpopular legislation in a special legislative session. His attempts to bribe some TN district leaders by attaching miniscule hurricane relief funds to the bill is insulting and alarming.

We must again stand up to the voucher scam and show our legislators that we want MORE not LESS investment in our public schools. Join us on Tuesday, January 28 for a full day of resistance. Here’s what the day will look like:

10AM – Arrive at the Capitol, watch the special session unfold all while holding up signs and sharing our dissent with legislators

12PM – Holding a press conference of our coalition of educators, parents and concerned community members tell the media that this voucher scam must end.

4:15PM – Stop The Voucher Scam Rally where we will hold public comment and tell the legislature that we want fully-funded, equitable and honest public schools not out-of-state billionaires banking off the backs of our students.

We’re also looking for folks to sign up to be a Voucher Scam Watchdog and show these legislators, in session, how unpopular and unjust the voucher bill is.
