FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Clarksville, TN – 4/4/2023 – The Montgomery County Democratic Party is proud to announce its newly elected officer team and executive committee members, as well as its new caucuses. The growth of our team is a testament to the values and mission of our organization, and we are excited to continue spreading our message throughout the community.

We are pleased to announce that Charles Uffelman has been re-elected as Chair of the Montgomery County Democratic Party. Charles is no stranger to the party, having first interned for the Tennessee Democratic Party as a high school student in 2011. He went on to accept a position on their fundraising team at the Democratic Resource Center in Memphis. He later worked at TNDP headquarters in Nashville serving as the Youth Outreach Coordinator. Charles also served as the Data Director and a Field Organizer for the AC Wharton Mayoral Campaign.

In addition to Charles, we are excited to welcome our new officers and executive committee members, who bring a wealth of experience and passion to our organization. The new officers are:

  • 1st Vice Chair: Christian Ramirez
  • 2nd Vice Chair: Karen Sorenson
  • 3rd Vice Chair: Katherine Lawson
  • 4th Vice Chair: Mary Richards
  • Trustee: Sabrena Gillespie
  • Secretary: Chris Campbell
  • Treasurer: Christine McKinney

The addition of 37 new members to our Executive Committee marks a significant achievement in our mission to foster a diverse and inclusive organization. We are thrilled to have these dedicated individuals join our team, and we are confident that their expertise and passion will be instrumental in driving us forward and realizing our goals.

We are also proud to announce that we have created new caucuses, including Black, Latino, LGBT+, AAPI, Indigenous/Native American, and College/Youth communities, and more as needed. These caucuses will help us engage with and better represent the diverse voices of our community. We believe that promoting diversity and inclusivity is essential to building a stronger, more united Democratic Party in Montgomery County.

As a party, we are committed to making a difference in the lives of all Montgomery County residents. We will continue to work tirelessly to promote Democratic values and policies and ensure that the voices of all Democrats in Montgomery County are heard.

We are excited to begin this new chapter in the Montgomery County Democratic Party’s history, and we look forward to working with our new officer team and executive committee, as well as our caucuses, to make the coming year the best one yet.
